Dearly beloved in Christ Jesus of St. Peter’s Family.
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
By the Grace and mercy of God, we are entering in the month of March. Let us praise the Lord for our Mar Chrysostom Valiya Metropolitan for the greatest ‘Bahumathi’ of ‘Padma Bhushan’ which the Government of India conferred on him last month. Our beloved Metropolitan has completed 60 years of his ordination and 44 years of his consecration. Let us praise the Lord for our Joseph Mar Thoma and pray for him for his graceful leadership throughout those years.
The Middle Lent is starting on 07th March. From this day, we will be having ‘Sandhya Namaskaram’ (Evening prayer) at our Church from 7pm to 7.45pm except Sundays. Please do attend the prayers. The special offertory of fasting during the Great Lent will be taken on 40th Friday (23rd March) which is for Chronic patients. During the lent, we are meditating on the Cross of Christ. Cross not only mean great suffering but also taking risk for Christ. The one who wishes to follow Jesus must take the Cross, by facing the realities of life through His passion.
Our Diocesan Bishop has deputed Rev. Joymon K.S. for our heritage fund collection (DDF). The expected for this year is 25 lakhs. Please give whole hearted sharing for the heritage fund, when the office bearers and Joymon Achen will visit your home. We will be having Rev.K.G.Joseph (Sabha Secretary) to lead the Passion Week services. Expecting your prayers and co-operation.
Let me conclude with the words of St. Paul in Eph 5:21 "Be subject to one another out of reverence for Christ." So, reconcile with each other.May the Lord Almighty help us all to forgive others and start loving and caring others just as Christ did.
